The CIBC Norman Bobins Leadership Award

Courtney Jones, The Dearborn Realtist Board

During his nearly two-decade career in the real estate and financial services industries, Courtney Jones has demonstrated exceptional leadership and business acumen while being fiercely committed to helping others to improve their quality of life and revitalize underserved neighborhoods.

As President of the Dearborn Realtist Board, an African-American Trade Association, and as one of the principal owners of Chicago Homes Realty Group, Jones has spearheaded innovative initiatives, such as the Annual Wealth Building Day. This event brings knowledge, financial resources, and people together to provide low-to-moderate income individuals with access to the skills and opportunities for building wealth and a better future.

Courtney has a heart to serve and a passion for Chicago neighborhoods, which led him to spearhead the Chicago NID Housing Counseling Agency, a division of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, making homeownership more accessible to African American households in Chicago.

Also under Courtney’s leadership, the Dearborn Realtist Board has partnered with the City of Chicago on a training program to expand the number of local community residents skilled in taking on receivership of foreclosed properties in Chicago’s south and west side communities. This program, now in its second year, is building a skilled diverse and community-based network of receivers for distressed properties putting them back into market while building community ownership and wealth.
